DAK Began as a collection of serious plastic modelers who caught the R/C tank combat bug and decided you could have both a looker and a runner. You could win on the battlefield, and on the contest table.
A True story about the detailing comes from tamiyacon 2006, when SCAT club President Steve Patton picked up his 1/16 scale snow tiger, put it on the contest table and won an award From Mr. Tamiya himself. Both DAK founders realized there was no turning back and many thousands of dollars and several Local, Regional, and National contest awards later we gladly share our tips and techniques.
Co-Founder Craig Pierce is the master at painting and weathering. His work has been featured in several magazines and is posted on many websites. As a past professional modeler, he is remarkable in most of his work is done in acrylics and water colors and he uses what many consider cheap materials. The results don’t lie and he is teaching all the members of our many clubs how to paint, weather and finish.
